Did you know?

OISCA International is the largest non-profit organisation (NPO) in Japan. With a mission to “serve humanity through environmental, social, cultural, and economical sustainable development” OISCA has established developmental projects in more than thirty countries for over half a century.

Our Roots

Our educational philosophy follows on the ethos created by the OISCA International NGO concentrating on three major aspects:

  • Planet Earth

  • Awareness and Mindfulness

  • Autonomy and Kindness

Our Story ... began in 2004

1. Planet Earth

In order to instil a respect for our planet, OISCA students learn through personal and collaborative environmental exploration. We follow the ideas and interests of the children and view the environment as the “third teacher.”

Bringing the natural world into our classroom

Lessons focus on understanding nature through the use of the outdoor space  of our 1000sqm size private park and mini river! This offers an enrichment of learning for young children which leads to an improved global awareness. Hands-on gardening and an emergent education is geared towards learning about Mother Earth and her continued sustainability.

2. Mindfulness and Awareness

Being mindful of ourselves, others, and the environment (e.g. listening to others, mindful eating, general etiquette/mannerisms) are all part of their daily education.

3. Autonomy and Kindness

The poet, Kahlil Gibran, wrote "Tenderness and kindness are not signs of weakness and despair, but manifestations of strength and resolution." Students learn that true kindness and acts of giving can only come from a place of confidence.

We invite you to join our ever-growing OISCA Family

and our journey towards sustainability

This is just the beginning ...

“Before a child speaks, it sings. Before they write, they paint. As soon as they stand, they dance. Art is the basis of human expression.”
